Merrill Lynch is launching a new career-development magazine geared toward executive leadership in corporate America. Entitled 360 Degrees and published by Spot On Media, the first edition is expected to hit the presses in the coming weeks.

Initially, the magazine’s target readership will be Merrill’s senior-management ranks, with plans to expand to include a wider audience of business leaders over time. The quarterly magazine will feature news about emerging trends in leadership, profiles of successful leaders, an ask-the-expert section and feature articles on strategic thinking, managing for performance, motivating staff, maximizing potential and learning from past mistakes.

A recurring column entitled “Outside the Box” will focus on how top performers in other fields lead, and “The Leader’s Bookshelf” will offer reading suggestions from industry leaders.

Will the new magazine be essential reading for Bob McCann, the head of Merrill’s retail advisory group? A Merrill spokesperson had not returned phone calls seeking comment as of press time.
