You’ve probably heard about Bear Stearns’ CEO Jimmy Cayne’s numerous golf outings in June—while his company’s hedge funds were tanking. You might have also heard that he tends to score in the high 90s, so it might not surprise you to hear that the Hollywood Country Club in Deal, N.J., is investigating Cayne’s victory at a Jul. 4 golf tournament.

According to DealBreaker, a blog that bills itself as a “Wall Street tabloid,” a three-member committee at the country club is looking into whether Cayne changed his golf scores to take home the victory. (Click here to read the blog.) There is no definitive evidence as to whether Cayne covered up his golf handicap with some inventive scorekeeping, but according to the blog, Hollywood President Harvey York said allegations of cheating are frequent, “particularly among the senior-level executive members, who are small and petty.”
