Financial advisors at Smith Barney were surprised to learn that a high-profile fashion model was in their midst — surprised and a little confused.

The New York Post reported in February that Eve Salvail, the French-Canadian model known for the elaborate dragon tattoo that adorns her head, had become a financial consultant at the firm. According to the report, Salvail, a darling of the Paris fashion scene in the 90s, would lean on her personal relationships with wealthy rappers and fellow runway walkers to build her client base.

But despite some rumors that Eve had once been an intern at the firm, the Post report turned out to be bunk. “She is not employed by the firm,” said a Smith Barney spokeswoman, who declined to elaborate.
