LPL Financial has lured TD Ameritrade's Michael Watson to serve as its new senior vice president of business consulting. Based in San Diego, Calif., Watson will focus on building and managing practice management programs for LPL's advisors. Previously, Watson was director of practice management at TD Ameritrade.
Gene Goldman has jumped ship at LPL Financial to become Cetera's new vice president and head of research. Cetera, which includes independent broker/dealers Financial Network Investment Corporation, Multi-Financial, and PrimeVest Financial Services, also brought on Brian Gendreau, a professor of finance at the University of Florida, who will serve as market strategist on a consulting basis.
Fidelity Investments Institutional Services recently changed its name to Fidelity Financial Advisor Solutions and appointed Scott Couto as president. Couto previously served as interim leader of the division and as executive vice president of product management and marketing before that. Prior to joining Fidelity in 2009, he worked at Evergreen Investment Management Company.
