The stock market may be clawing its way back, but the U.S housing market still has a huge surplus. According to the latest data, the number of vacant U.S homes touched 18.7 million in the second quarter. That's a very large number, so here's some context. Assuming four people per household, there are enough empty homes in the U.S. to provide shelter to the entire populations of the U.K. and Israel.
