Geri Pell: Jumping off a 130-foot cliff on a zip-line at a leadership/change retreat.

RR: The most triumphant?

GP: Qualifying for the Chairman's Advisory Council at Ameriprise.

RR: A cause you support?

GP: World Wide Orphans, because every child deserves a chance.

RR: Best winter sport?

GP: Scuba diving in the Caribbean.

RR: First concert and last concert you attended?

GP: Led Zeppelin; Bruce Springsteen.

RR: Social networking: revolutionary or ridiculous?

GP: Revolutionary. I use LinkedIn, and it has been an invaluable tool for meeting business connections and networking.

RR: Best business book you've read?

GP: Child of the Dawn by Guatama Chopra. It taught me that the secret to wealth and happiness is to find your gift — and then share it with others.

RR: Most interesting innovation in the financial-advisory business in the last two years?

GP: A continuing move to ongoing financial advice, less market chasing and deeper relationships with clients, which is what I have spent my career doing.

RR: If you could get one additional degree or certification, what would it be?

GP: Certified Yoga Instructor.
