Robert W. Baird hired Denise Wypiszenski as managing director and chief operating officer of Baird's private wealth management group. Most recently, Wypiszenski served as director and chief operating officer of the western division of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
Moneta Group, a St. Louis-based wealth management firm, hired William A. Hornbarger as chief market strategist. Hornbarger joins Moneta from Wachovia Securities where he was the firm's chief fixed income strategist.
Broadmark Asset Management has appointed Ricardo L. Cortez as President of global distribution. Most recently, Cortez served as president of the private client group for Torrey Associates in New York. Prior to that, he was vice president at Goldman Sachs and product manager for Goldman's external money manager program.
The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) elected C. Robert Henrikson as its 2010 chairman. Henrikson is the chairman, CEO and president of MetLife.
