Woodbury Financial Services, an independent broker/dealer and a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group, named Scott Carlson senior vice president of distribution.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has named Donald M. Hoerl acting director of its Denver regional office.

Fidelity Investments hired Daniel Petrozzo as chief information officer of its institutional-operations group. Prior to joining Fidelity, Petrozzo served as Morgan Stanley's co-global chief information officer.

Wachovia appointed Robert K. Steel as the company's new CEO, president and member of the Board of Directors. Steel comes over from his position as Under Secretary of Domestic Finance for the U.S. Department of Treasury.
