State Street Global Advisors appointed Thomas Anderson as head of the Strategy and Research Group in its Intermediary Business Group. He will oversee eight research strategists who provide customized portfolio solutions to financial advisors, asset managers, RIAs and family offices. Anderson previously worked in the firm's Charitable Asset Management Group.

Deutsche Bank Alex. Brown appointed Bill Svoboda managing director and regional executive for Private Client Services in San Francisco. He will oversee and expand the sales force, and develop relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families in the region. He previously served as district manager in California for Morgan Stanley.

LPL hired Bob Oros as executive vice president of Integration Management last month. He will manage the integration of LPL's acquisitions. Oros formerly held various leadership roles at Charles Schwab.
